About Ryan Boudinot
Ryan Boudinot was born on November 6, 1972 in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. He is an actor and producer, known for The Circle (2017), A.P. Bio (2018) and Idiocracy (2006). When he was a year old, his family moved to Washington State, where he has lived ever since. He has two sisters and one brother. He attended the University of Washington, where he majored in English with a minor in philosophy. After graduating from college, he received his Master of Fine Arts degree from Bennington College. He worked his way up to becoming a manager and then moved on to become an editor. In 2006, he published his first novel, The True Meaning of Smekday. It was made into the movie Home (2015). He is currently working on another book as well as scripts for television shows that are in development with nobody. Ryan's work has been described as surreal, trippy, macabre, and fantastical. His writing is often described as weird, offbeat and quirky. He has had four stories published in the journal McSweeney's and his 2012 novel Blueprints of the Afterlife was a finalist for the Philip K Dick Award. His novel The True Meaning of Smekday was made into the film Home (2015). He has written for Amazon's show Transparent and is currently writing a TV series called One Mississippi, which he also produces. In addition to Amazon, Ryan has held editorial positions at numerous tech companies and startups including Microsoft, Netflix, and Expedia. He also teaches a class at the University of Washington on Science Fiction and Fantasy Writing. He is represented by Howard Morhaim Literary Agency. As a professional editor specializing in emerging technologies, Ryan has written about VR, blockchain, immersive audio, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.
